Introduction

Warlord Nix is the first boss encountered in The Void's Edge story mission. He also appears in The Heliophage mission where he is summoned by Rendain.

Description

Warlord Nix is a giant Thrall Enforcer who appears to be a special favorite of Rendain.

Strategy

Warlord Nix is a very powerful opponent who's weapon boasts extreme accuracy, damage, and burst-fire. He also has the ability to summon thralls to his aid, making this fight difficult for heroes with low health like Thorn and Kid Ultra to handle solo. High damage heroes, like Marquis or Beatrix, or tanky heroes like Montana or Kelvin are recommended instead. Another viable option is to have one tanky hero absorb his fire while others attack him from relative safety.

When Nix arrives, retreat to the control center if not already there and avoid his fire as much as possible. This provides cover from his fire and forces his thralls to funnel through the door, setting up a perfect killing zone. Note that Nix himself can fit through the doorway and it will be harder to fight him in those confined quarters.

Melee characters are at a distinct disadvantage solo because of how easy it is to become overwhelmed by Nix's summons and how difficult it is to dodge and/or block his fire. Attacking him while he's summoning or reloading is recommended; kill his summons in-between reloads to prevent being overwhelmed.
