Characters in Battleborn universe can be divided by factions. There are 5 biggest official (lore wise) factions:
- The Jennerit Imperium (or Empire)
- The Eldrid
- The Last Light Consortium (LLC)
- United Peacekeeping Republics (UPR or Peacekeepers)
- The Rogues
In addition to listed above factions, there are Varelsi – the main antagonists in the story (lore and gameplay wise), and so called aborigines – indigenous hostiles of Ekkunar and Bliss planets.
